English as an Additional Language
At The Beacon we have children who speak a variety of home languages as well as English. We support, encourage and celebrate the diversity of language, the opportunities this gives us all to learn together and understand the real-world importance of developing our language skills.
As a school, we work closely with the company Babcock to ensure that pupils with English as an additional language are able to access the curriculum. To help our families, we have put together a selection of websites to encourage and build your child's use and understanding of English.
