Pre-school Pupil Premium Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligibility Criteria
    Children must be accessing the Early Years Funding Entitlement Funding for 3 & 4 Year Olds in order to attract Early Years Pupil Premium funding. Early Years Pupil Premium funding is only available on the universal funding for three- and four-year-olds (up to 15 hours per week) and not for any hours claimed as the extended entitlement (up to 30 hours per week). A child does not have to take up the full 570 hours of early education they are entitled to in order to get the Early Years Pupil Premium.
    Four-year-olds in reception classes who receive the school-age pupil premium are not eligible for the Early Years Pupil Premium funding.
    Children may be eligible if parents have an income under £16,190 and are in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:

  • OR

    • the child is currently being looked after by a local authority in England or Wales

    • the child has left care in England or Wales through

      • an adoption

      • a special guardianship order

      • a child arrangement order
