Transnational Visit to Spain October 2019
Mrs Billington and Mr Chalkley visit our Spanish link school between Monday 21st and Friday 25th October 2019 (half term!).
We met with staff from each of our link schools to plan our project and undertake training together using some of the Computing technology our children will use on their visit to Spain in January 2021.
We received a very warm welcome at Andres Garcea Solar Primary School in Lorca. For Mrs Billington, it was lovely to return for the third time and see that previous projects are still much celebrated in the school - and of course very exciting to plan our new one!
Residents of Lorca take great pride in their Semana Santa celebrations which take place each Easter. There are six 'brotherhoods' in total, we visited the museums of the Blue and White Brotherhoods to see their amazing silk-embroidered cloaks and banners. They are truly stunning works of art and our children will be lucky enough to see them and find out how they are designed and made.
Our visit included a lot of meetings and presentations...
... workshops and training sharing computing ideas from across our schools.
We visited Agilas, a local coastal town, to find out what it was like living in the fort there. We learned about how British engineers built a railway to transport goods to and from the harbour in the 1800s.
